Devon George Petersen, a darts player from Africa, has been nicknamed the “African Warrior”. When Devon steps onto the stage, he knows that he is carrying the hopes of a whole continent and is an inspiration to millions.
His father George introduced Devon to darts while he was a youngster, growing up in Mitchell's Plain in Cape Town. Devon was a natural, and he quickly became the youngest player to represent both Western Province and South Africa at the same time. At the age of 24, Devon made his PDC World Darts Championship debut at the Alexandra Palace, London, and his rise in the professional game looked inevitable.
